Meet Franny!

image

Who I am:
I’m Franny!Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and currently living out my days in the Midwest. I’m a goof with a passion for creepy and dark things and if you can scare me often you win. Once you get to know all 17 of my personalities I’m sure you’ll love me. I have a passion for doing the things that I love even when the adults give me the stink eye. It’s my life and I’m living it. I’ve been privileged enough to travel with bands and music artists all over the world and I don’t see myself slowing down anytime soon. I’m passionate about a lot of things but if you ask my family they’ll say I’m obsessive…I spend my time off reading books and collecting celebrity barbie dolls. I have more movies in my room than a Netflix warehouse and more cd’s and records than a record store and I’m still always bored.

What I do for Feed Our Children NOW!:
I’m the Tour Manager for Feed Our Children NOW!

What that means:
It means that I’ll be out on every single day of the 2013 Vans Warped Tour. Most people aren’t aware of all the things that could go wrong on a day to day basis. My job, like every other manager on the tour, is to make sure that everything runs smoothly and that our team on site has everything that they need to do their job. Rain, shine, or hurricane we have a job to do and I’ll be there making sure we have fun while doing it.

How I got here:
After Warped Tour 2010 I got in touch with Lana Posner who is the founder of Feed Our Children NOW! after seeing them on tour everyday. I told her that I’d love to be a part of the team because I was highly impressed with what they did. We had several phone conversations before she welcomed me into the team and I never looked back. To this day the charity is still growing and I really think it’s all thanks to Lana and our team of volunteers who set aside everything to make Feed Our Children NOW! happen!

When I’m not working on Feed Our Children NOW! things:
On most days off I can be found sitting in my dark room watching a movie, reading a book, or drawing. I love to draw peoples faces even though I don’t think I’m very good. Not to sound antisocial, but I like being left alone to feed my creative mind. I like scrapbooking and hanging out with my friends. I like taking adventures to unknown places or simply going to Starbucks for a soy Awake Tea Latte and if you think I smell funny that’s probably because I spend a lot of time in old book stores and thrift shops.

Bands I can’t wait to see on Warped Tour 2013:
Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish, Billy Talent, The Exposed, The Aquabats, The Indecent & Gin Wigmore

Bands I love:
Bikini Kill, Hole, Garbage, Le Tigre, Save Ferris, The Sounds, Rasputina, The Gossip, The Roger Sisters, Smashing Pumpkins, Julie Ruin, Mika Miko, Bratmobile, Jack Off Jill and Jemina Peral…just to name a few!

Franny will be out on every stop of Vans Warped Tour this summer so make sure to come say hey!

Don’t forget, if you bring 3 canned goods, a $5 donation, or an old cell phone to donate you get a skip the line pass!

Tour kicks off in THREE days in Auburn, WA - see you there!

Meet Erinn!

Who I am:
I’m Erinn aka Knizzle aka Easy E aka whatever nickname you’d like to make up for me. I’m sure I have an endless number of names I answer to. I just turned 24 this month and man does that sound old, but I’m sure I act like I’m 16 (tops). I’m a big kid at heart but when it comes down to handling business I don’t play.

What I do for Feed Our Children NOW!:
Still not exactly sure what my title is but I bring ideas primarily. I also help problem solve and sift through other peoples ideas and figure out if they’re logistically possible. In a nut shell I help plan things and figure out how to carry them out successfully. My primary focus is Warped. Believe it or not as soon as tour is over we’re planning for the next year. I’ll be out on the road with Franny this summer so I collaborate with him to make sure everything we need is in place. Because I was “on the ground” all last summer it makes it a bit easier to
understand our needs and work things out ahead of time.

How I got here:
I manage a Rock & Soul band called The Silver Comet (insert non clever shameless plug) thesilvercomet.com. Last January we got hooked up with FOCNOW through volunteer coordinator Hailey. We were both on warped so we worked hand and hand everyday during and after the tour. Now I’m officially part of the team.

I’m a fun loving, semi- psychotic, outgoing individual who is excessively passionate about people. I can’t wait to meet/ remeet all of you guys this summer. Let’s hang, get to know each other, and help some kids in your community.
For more info on me & what I spend everyday off of warped doing check out thesilvercomet.com or my twitter account @ErinnTSC

Meet Johnnie!

Who I am:
I’m Johnnie! I live in Milwaukee, WI but I’m hopefully headed to Los Angeles soon. I’m studying Marketing at MATC and I work at a nursing home. When I’m not working you can catch me watching Supernatural, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, or The O.C. If a show or movie has vampires, zombies, or witches in it I’ll probably watch it if I haven’t already seen it. My Keurig is the next best thing since sliced bread. One of my favorite things about Milwaukee is Summerfest, if you haven’t heard about it look it up, it’s fantastic.

My position at Feed Our Children NOW!:
I am the Promo Team Coordinator and help out with social media.

What that means:
I send out emails to the promo team asking them to help us spread the word about events and other things going on with Feed Our Children NOW! With social media I help post on any social networks and help out with anything else that I get asked to do.

How I got here:
I was interested in helping out more so I emailed asking if they needed anyone and after a couple of emails and phone calls later I was brought on to be a part of the team.

Bands I can’t wait to see on Warped:
The Early November, Story of the Year, Real Friends, Man Overboard, Hawthorne Heights, and Motion City Soundtrack.

Breathe Carolina will be on YouNow Thursday @ 7PM PST (10PM EST) to chat about their show at the Troubadour and Feed Our Children NOW!

Meet Steph!

image

Who I Am:
Hi everyone! My name is Steph Kinney. I’m 23 years old and I live in Blackwood, NJ. I’m a music lover and a graduate student.

My position at Feed Our Children NOW!:
I’m the Food Drive Coordinator. If you are interested in holding a food (or cellphone) drive in your city please email localdrives@feedourchildrennow.org. I also help with the Financial Literacy Program at the Boys and Girls Club in Camden. When we collect money at Warped the money gets deposited into accounts for disadvantaged children. We have developed a program to help the children put more money in their accounts by making beaded bracelets.

How I got here:
I volunteered at the Camden date on Warped 2012. It was there that I met Lana Posner the founder of Feed Our Children NOW! After Warped Tour, I sent an email to her about getting more involved. She wanted me to get in contact with some other members of the Feed Our Children NOW! team. After a few months of emails and phone conferences, they mentioned they were in need of someone to coordinate food drives. I volunteered to take on this role and I’m so glad that I did. I love the Feed Our Children NOW! family.

When I’m not working on Feed Our Children NOW! work…
I currently work as a receptionist at a tattoo shop. I’m also finishing up my second semester of graduate school in the School Counseling program at Rowan University. When I’m not at work or at school, you can probably find me at the gym or at a local park. I love running and exercising! I also really love going to concerts - I try to go to at least one a month; there’s nothing like live music.

Bands I can’t wait to see on Warped Tour:
VersaEmerge, The Used and The Early November! My favorite band off Warped is Paramore (been a fan since 2005), I’m so bummed they aren’t on Warped this year!
